Medusa

Medusa is my new creation this music utilizes soft piano, synthesizer, drum loops, percussion, and traditional bass and drums.

This is not a new approach but rather a return to my creative origins, with a more predominate chillout and electronic vibe instead of a more classic dance house style.

I’ve taken the liberty to inspire myself on artists like AIR and Massive Attack maintaining an originality and signature that relates to my oldest creations. This music is not meant to catch your attention but only to set a mood, if possible to take you on a journey of thoughts and feelings.

MyTV - A LOOK TO THE PAST

MyTV is my latest creation and like my previous production, “The Moon Lover” this track follows on a simple construction dynamic.
This understated simplicity is by no mean a negative factor, by the contrary, I believe that this brings the music to an all new level.

MyTV samples were built on top of a cool bass riff. In fact the bass can be heard throughout the entire track and serves has the main vibe to it.

This music is more of an experience and also a look back to my older creations when I was into a more chillout, alternative sound.

THE LOGICAL THING TO DO!

The logical thing to do is the most unexpected and irrelevant one. When you think that you are in command the universe tends to balance himself.
Why struggle to challenge this when you know that there is no alternative to what will unfold?
Or is there?
I, for what is worth, will keep challenging the future. Why? Simply because I can… Maybe there is no point but this way life is a lot more fun, and who doesn’t like fun.

The Moon Lover is a simple music, not much happening here but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like this track. By the contrary I really love it and I believe its stronger point is its simplicity.

We can define this track has deep house, trending to a more commercial vocal vibe and club dancing style.
A strong simple beat complemented by a melodic bass sets the tone to this music. The monotony of the track is interrupted by an off tune synth and some vocal samples.
In order to give more substance I decided to include some piano riffs, this addition allowed for richer and full sound that perfectly complemented the track vibe. Some twist at the end and there it is, The Moon Lover, a simple beautiful track.

A QUESTION OF TIME!

There are times when life gives you a chance to change. Better put, life forces you to change.
It’s normal that people accommodate to the simple facts of life, don’t take risks and fall into the web of monotony. And you can keep going for ever in this never ending loop of inactivity.

The time has come and now I have the chance for changing, the chance of doing things differently.
Although I lack the courage life has taken care that I don’t have a choice and with that have the responsibility to act and face all the challenges that the upcoming future has in store for me.

Deep inside I knew that I needed to change, I knew that it was A QUESTION OF TIME.

This track is an example of change. Absolute Love takes all my years of music production and condenses into a music that reflects all the feelings and vibes that drive my motivation to create something new.

From nothing to something the difference is the will, and this will to create something new from nothing is what makes this track special.

Submotion, CLassic House Music

Submotion is my latest production. This track follows on the same trend as my last music creation, Ensemble.

Submotion has a more chill out house vibe with an Ibiza beach midday groove. The music structure is simple but nonetheless original. This is a shout out to my music roots, being that a more melodic, jazzy, classic house mix.

Ensemble & needin' U

I've took inspiration on some old 90's pearls
Hello World Wide Web, it’s been some time since I posted new stuff. Well here I am, returning with some new original music winch I gladly share with you.

This time I have a small production that I’ve created during some away time from home called Ensemble. For this track I’ve took inspiration on some old house music like the 1998 David Morales hit needin’ U, this retro vibe mixed with some new and modern groves created an interesting mash of sounds.

For my surprise this track ended being a very pop and danceable one with a very characteristic piano riff that carries the entire music and definitely gives it personality.

In terms of structure we can say that is a very traditional one. The music is divided in three parts blended in a progressive build has new samples are added to the track.

In the end I’m very happy with the end result. This track definitely represents a moment in life and for that will always be one of my favourites.

Beauty is only Skin Deep

Skin Deep is my new track. This electronic house music was made without any kind of prejudice or self-assertion. Instead I just wanted to create something that differentiated from my latest productions.
The result was a music that although simple in its form still manages to stand out has one that can make my feelings arouse.

The track is divided in three parts, it start with a simple melodic bass that can be found throughout the entire track. In the second part the music develops in a progressive structure to a more classic house deep vibe with repetitive garage type sounds, when it reaches the third and final part both styles are combine into one culminating in a mixture that defines the groove of Skin Deep.

There is a kind of confident and forceful expression buried deep in this track that expresses my deepest feelings, views on the world of music, see if you can find them…

Beat of Love (I don’t understand)

Beat of Love (I don’t understand) is my new production. This music follows the trend of my last creations, it’s a club house sound that although borrowing some inspiration from the late 90’s techno still maintains some originality and personality.

This production also relies on some experimentation and repetition of off key sounds, that gives an interesting twist to the track also adding a unique vibe.

There is also an attempt to create a more danceable and commercial sound, maintaining always my Halfgame vibe, with its rolling bass and deep beat that carries the slightly over six minutes track keeping it clean, fresh and groovy at the same time.

Setting the beat

Today I will seat the beat, or at least I’ll try.
They say that we know our inner self by experimenting. It’s common for people to say that they don’t like something without even trying once, being that food, movies, art or music.
In life I always try to keep an open mind, and with that philosophy I normally don’t take things for granted.
Today I will open my heart and express my feelings in the best way I possibly can. I’ll try to be even more open minded, more just, fair and in general good.

Said that I’ll leave you with another music creation. Set Beat its a simple funky club house music that I really enjoyed creating.

Although simple in its construction Set Beat took me a considerable amount of time to finish. Again when things get complicated I resort to one of my most important rules, KEEP IT SIMPLE. And guess what, it worked...

The Past the Future and Now

There is only past and future, present is an illusion that life created in order to give us hope so our actions although meaningless are necessary to be.

And here we are, the year is 2014, and as you read this words it’s a fact that they are already craved in the walls of the past and as hard you try there is no chance that they will ever be in your present.

And what about the future? We can only imagine, dream, and hope that our wishes and desires materialize in memories of the past, because…

… because there is no present.

Retro feels so good

“Feel so Good” is a strange track, on one side there’s a very modern and up to date vibe while in the other end is a pushing force that brings it to a more nostalgic retro groove.

To be honest this result was not intended. I definitely don’t have the talent to make such a conscious production. But the fact is that this accomplishment really made me proud.

This music really brings some memories and the more I listen to “Feel so Good” the more, the buried memories from the past, struggle to make their way out of the cemetery grave.

There was a time when house music was simple, unpretentious and liberating; those were the main reasons why I felt so attracted tor this type of music and why I decided to create my own original work.

“Feel so Good” starts with a clubish, funky grove with a strong bass, simple beat and soft melody. That funky vibe is complemented by an acapella voice that definitely creates that retro feeling and also helps break the track monotony.

Retro Feels so good
In the end “Feel so Good” existence is nothing more than amateur luck. The end result definitely wasn’t intended to be like this, but the fact, is that this track turnout to be a very danceable, original and a enjoyable retro track.

Bad Boy

Bad Boy, my latest production is definitely a more mature track one that reflects the evolution of my knowledge and understanding of the music creation process.

Although simple in its construction the fact is that this track is really effective. Not only it has a very sober and original vibe it also has a very modern and universal grove.

Bad Boy is a deep progressive house music with a jazzy vibe. Those o follow my blog already know how much I love that jazzy vibe, something that has been persistent throughout almost of my tracks.
This music is no exception, and that jazzy vibe really gives this track some personality giving it also a very sophisticated groove.

Similar to my oldest productions I’ve used again a funkier beat, complemented by a repetitive bass and piano riff that serves as the track base.
With soft transitions and some percussion twists, the tracks final touch is a small, also repetitive, trumpet riff that elevates and opens the track giving it a freshness that carries the music trough the middle until the end.

Again a very pleasuring experience winch I share with the world hopping that you enjoy as much as I did.

Discovered in Order to Appreciate

I’m back with two new productions, “Electronics” and “For the Love of God”. These two tracks although sharing some similar construction methods are very different from each other, one being a more standard chillout jazzy music while the other is a darker, emotional and alternative.

“Electronics” relies on a more comfortable sound with happy soft tunes, there’s also a jazz vibe that nestles the music and really gives it a strong personality.

The most important instruments in this production are obviously the piano and saxophone that are for most part the primary sounds of this track. Nevertheless there are two others that also stand out. The first is an off tone synth sample that persists throughout most of the track and is used to disrupt the clean vibe of the track. The other is a two voice samples that give this music a very unique and unconventional groove.

In summary this track although simple is full of small details that must be discovered in order to appreciate the music to its fullest.

“For the Love of God” is a darker and more emotional track that relies heavily on atmospheric and alternative sounds. There is some Trip-Hop and Drum and Bass influences winch give this track a distinct vibe, especially the Bass and Beat that really define the music personality.

One instrument however stands out from the rest of the track winch is used as a lead sound halfway into the music in order to break the monotone vibe and give it a twist. This instrument is the flute, a very simple melody that has a big impact and really changes the music groove.

Similarly to “Electronics”“For the Love of God” is also full of small details that must be discovered in order to appreciate the music to its fullest.

The random desert - a movie buff life

Movies were always a big part of my life and naturally are a big influence in my process of inspiration when creating music.
Not long ago I’ve revisited one that really made a mark on my movie buff life, the name of that cinema masterpiece was “Lost Highway”.
This 1996 American psychological thriller written and directed by David Lynch had, in addition to its thoroughly surreal plot and characters, one of the most diverse and inspiring soundtracks ever.

As I watched “Lost Highway”, all the movie sounds and music that were kept deeply buried in my mind emerged and persisted in a stubborn wish to hum the hypnotic melodies that remained after the credits roll. “The random desert” is a reflection of the emotions translated to sound as I process all the information gathered throughout the visioning of the David Lynch disturbing, magical and unique work. There’s obviously a cinematic vibe cradling this music winch gives it a really unique vibe and sets it apart from all the other creations I’ve done so far.

Dancing Girls

“Dancing girls” is my latest production winch relies heavily on soft harmonic sounds, together with some jazz influences.
This production deviates a bit from my latest’s works, winch were a more commercial house driven approach.

This electronic chillout music, although simple in construction, it’s a very cinematic and, I risk to say, sensual track. The melodic repetitive sounds give this music a unique vibe that forces my mind to imagine dancing girls moving in a slow almost sexy way.
As inspiration I’ve used my memories from the sounds that I recall from the acclaimed TV show, Fame. This American television series originally produced between 1982 and 1987 really influenced the way this music turned out to be. Maybe that’s why I associate this music to dance.

There’s also a big 80’s vibe that supports “Dancing girls”, this vibe was intended in order to give a retro feeling and also maintain some purity regarding my original inspiration.
Complementing the music and in order to give it more depth a I’ve included a saxophone melody that apart from giving that jazz vibe that I so much like also gives some diversity to the repetitive beat, bass and synth that can be heard throughout the music.

If you really like this music you should also listen to “normal days” winch as a similar vibe and is on my top ten favorite productions.

Hope You enjoy.

Filter - Another commercial track

This will be the second music from a trio of electronic music productions that I’m currently working on. On my previous post I’ve showed the track “Wolfmother”, being that the first piece, a short and very commercial driven music.

“Filter” follows on the steps of “Wolfmother”, also attempting to create a more commercial and danceable tune, winch for me appears to be an almost impossible task. This time however I’ve tried to expand things a little bit and using the experience recently gain when creating “Wolfmother”, I’ve tried to create something more than just a commercial music and gave it my personal touch in order to produce an exciting and original vibe.

This approach resulted on “Filter”. This music relies heavily on a buildup technique winch is used to enable the creation of a memento that culminates, immediately after the big music break, in a explosion of sounds that tries to bring the dance floor to ecstasy.

I’m very proud with what I’ve accomplished and this track is certainly one of my favorites so far. “Filter” is a simple commercial, but at the same time, original track that I humbly present to you hoping you enjoy it as much as I.

Hope You enjoy.

Wolfmother - Dance Floor Music

It´s been a long time but here I am with another new production, “Wolfmother”. This will be the first post from a trio of music productions that I’m currently working on.

This time I’ve aimed for a more dance club type of music and I believed that I nailed it. As inspiration to this track I’ve used some French vibes reminiscent of artists like Daft Punk and Cassius and also included some 80’s touch winch is so popular nowadays.

This track relies mainly on simple but very happy tunes and some consistent breaks that serve as moment builder that helps carry the dance floor crowd to ecstasy. This commercial aspect was intended and was one of my main objectives since this type of production is not common on my portfolio and I wanted to see if I was able to create a more driven to the masses type of music.

I’ve concluded that it’s more difficult to do a commercial music that the more alternative ones that I usually create, nevertheless I’m very happy with the end result and hope to repeat this experience more times in the future.

For now I leave you with “Wolfmother” promising to come back soon with more stuff.

Hope You enjoy.

Colered times...

Created on June, 3 of 2012, “Colors” is my number 12 music from my upcoming chillout album “Generations”.
This music has an Electronic rock vibe to it mixed together with some small house nuances.

There was a major artistic influence on the production of this track, these influence remotes to the memories back in 2002. “You all look the same to me” was the title of the third studio album of the amazing band ARCHIVE and one track really stand out from this outstanding album.
The name of this music was “Again”, this 16:19 minutes song was simply a work of art, the vocals, the guitar sounds, the bass, piano and strings, all sounds were perfectly tuned and symbiotically connected making this track one of the most immersive and pleasing to listen.
This song made me buy the album without even knowing the band or their work, I know now that this was the correct decision and a life changing one.

“Colors” was inspired in the sensations felt when listening for the first time to ARCHIVE, the sensation of listening to a sound that at the same time sounded familiar but was so different from all the stuff I’ve heard before.
I know it sounds confusing but that was exactly how I felt when I listen to “Again” for the first time, possibly because of the massive amount of information which my little musician brain had to absorb.
There´s a kind of sadness in “Colors” winch was not originally my intention but as the music evolved that vibe transformed the music personality and made it to become in what it is now.

“Colors” is a electronic rock kind of music that borrows a lot of ideas from memories and feelings from the old days when music didn’t had to follow the commercial and tendency rules, were the experimenting was encouraged and were the freedom of music art creation was accepted by all.
I miss those times, nevertheless here is “Colors”.

Hope You enjoy,
